This is my daughter...
and the story goes...
Take a look at what she's wearing...yes, those are harem (MC Hammer) pants...whatever you want to call them. This is what she wore to school today. Around 8:30 am she text me saying that the kids in her school were just staring at her and making comments; many of them were ignorant comments at that. I text her back and basically said ignore them, and be you. Some kids just don't have enough confidence within themselves...I am raising my daughter to make sure she has confidence; to believe in herself; to be herself. I would think that many parents would do the same. I would think that it would start in the home...
My daughter knows not to judge anyone; to talk about anyone whom she may think is "different". I wasn't raised to show prejudices against anyone and I'm bringing the same of what I was taught into my home now with my daughter. This is just ridiculous...and this isn't the first time she's had to go through this type of behavior from her peers. But I always tell her to remain true to yourself and brush off those who cannot do what you do....being confident.

Wow your daughter is gorgeous and I love her style. Ignore the ones that give you the look, it may be jealousy. I raise my kids the same way like you, that they have to be unique in there own style do not have to be like others.
You look lovely as always. Thanks for sharing.
Your daughter is stunning!
I would be curious as to how old she is. There is a certain age range where there is safety in conformity. That doesn't make it right, it just is the norm. I know, because I watched my daughter go through the same stage.
It wasn't until her senior year in high school that she began to feel more confident in making choices based on who she was, rather than on what the crowd would accept. It is a process, but you are wise to teach her the principles of being true to your best vision of yourself!
Wow, I loved reading this post. You are an amazing mother, so supportive, and so wonderfully invested in your daughter's life. Like mother like daughter, you are both gorgeous!!! Tell your daughter that I think she looks amazing!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE her pants, courage is the main ingredient to having a personal style. She has courage to wear what she wants, and those kids at school have no idea how stylish your daughter is. I also love your all black outfit, very classy!
You should move to NC ~ then you and I could go shopping together, and your daughter and my daughter could go shopping together. :-)
Your daughter is stunning, and looks great in her harem pants!! (those kids were clearly not around to see what HAMMER pants actually look like) lol
your daughter looks great, ad so do you :)

@katie...trust me, she did - but my daughter also said that she probably won't wear the pants again :(
and thanks for your comment!
I have those same pants! And ppl talked junk about them but I love em, and ur daughter looks cute in them!
I think you daughter gets negative comments because:
1. She's pretty.
2. She's pretty.
3. She's pretty.
lol hhahahaa I'm sure they hate cause shes smart, confident, personable, classy, tall, slim, etc. But you'll be surprise at how many people don't like you just cause you look good.
Go mama for raising you daughter to be CONFIDENT!!!!
Blessings!
