Day: Tuesday, January 11, 2011

Today I feel: Discouraged. Considering the winter storm we had basically crippled the Atlanta Metro areas. Schools have been closed for 2 days and will be closed tomorrow as well. My office has been closed for 2 days, but I work from home anyway.

The cities and counties just do not have enough plow trucks to go around to salt/sand the neighborhoods/roads. It's horrible outside. We haven't received mail, or UPS/FedEx or anything because of the icy conditions. Due to our temps not really rising above freezing....the ice shall stay.

In the meantime I've been busy around the house and catching up on my cooking. My daughter is really enjoying that!

Most memorable thing that occurred today: Me driving to the grocery store, in what was suppose to be a 2 minute drive but had taken 10 min, getting to the grocery store parking lot only to find a huge ice skating rink, and then going inside the store to find hardly any of the staples like bread, milk, lunch meat etc...

This ice needs to melt!!

Best part of my day: Preparing the meal shown above with my daughter. She's too much!

Something I am looking forward to tomorrow: Another day of working from home and watching the news to see what's going to happen the next day.

Until...later

Take Care!

  1. Sounds terrible, we never shut down no matter what the weather is. I'm jealous but at the same time, I'm sure you'll want to get out of the house soon.

  3. Wow, that sounds like the northeast where I live! We had about 2 feet of snow last night but I guess we're a little more used to it than in your part of the country. At least it forces us to slow down a bit if we need too;)

Those dishes look sooo good! Checking out the recipe now-following too..
