Coffee Talk: Avoiding Risks...

You ever think about, as women, we seem to always have an excuse on why we shouldn't take a risk? We give excuses that prevent us from our own successes.

Women give excuses to jusify why we won't be able to achieve a particular goal. These excuses are our fear of failure.

[light chuckle] Here are some I've used:
  • I don't have time
  • I don't know how
  • It will not work
  • I've tried this before
  • What will others think?
  • Am I smart enough to do this? (second guessing yourself)
There was time in my life when all I did was focus on the negative. How true is it that WE are our own worst critics. Eventually, however, I began to realize that I will totally regret not trying/doing something later in life.

These excuses prevent us from achieving THAT goal. If you want to succeed, then you must do whatever it is to make it happen for yourself.

I believe that when you begin making excuses for yourself, then you don't believe in yourself.

Recognize what you can do. Don't allow others to tell you that you can't. Fighting off excuses is a challenge. Think of it this way--successful people look past their excuses and stay clearly on their path. Like Nike...."Just Do It".
