Another busy day...
My daughter had a casting call/photo shoot (I'll post behind the scenes shots tomorrow) in an area called Little Five Points in Atlanta, for a boutique named Gurl Props (gurlprops.com). This was our 1st time ever going there (Little Five Points). What an eclectic place. Full of unique people, music, great food, and the best vintage boutiques!

We were there for about 3 hours then we did a little shopping and left to get food.  Definitely going back; besides, should she get the job, we'll be going back every weekend for photo shoots anyway.

After eating I dropped my daughter off at a basketball game, at her high school, and I went to see Big Momma's: Like Father Like Son. It was ok...funny at times. If you go see it, you be the judge.

Now I'm relaxing. Tomorrow is all about relaxation and spa treatments!

Yes, I am wearing black again...well black  & grey. But do you see? You see the bracelet? There's the color!

And yes, I wore this to outfit work. See my office is business casual; but I guess a little different from most corporate offices. I can get away with wearing open-toed heels and/or combat boots. Besides, I've already labeled myself as the 'different one' in the office anyway.

When I dress, I like to be comfy, and not feel uneasy about something I'm wearing. I also like to keep to who I am as an individual. Actually, I'm the overdressed one at work. Weird....

Anyway, I'll be too busy tomorrow to post an outfit post--have tons to do. I will be back in action on Friday, maybe...it may rain.

Doesn't it seem as though my skirt couldn't decide whether it wanted to be olive green or black? I thought it was pretty cool.

Anyway, I had such a good day today. I had a great 3 mile jog, and dinner was leftovers; leaving me free from cooking. The weather was, again, gorgeous and I'm only looking forward to the beautiful weather ahead this week.

Easy Cooking...

Just a simple, easy meal:

Baked, Herb Chicken & Garlic Asparagus

The chicken was easy. I had taken a whole chicken, added poultry seasoning, fresh thyme, fresh parsley, and other herbs then put into the oven for an hour and a half.

While the chicken was baking, I had taken a bunch of asparagus; cut and washed; 1 1/2 teaspoon of unsalted butter, 1 garlic clove, and 1 cut shallot added into one big pan and cooked on med-high heat for about 7 minutes.

There you go! Dinner!

Very easy meal.

We have a lot going on here in Atlanta this weekend. There's the Bronner Brothers hair weekend, the Ryan Cameron Ol Skool Nu Skool Step show (which was so much fun last night), the Circus, and the National Cheerleading/Dance competition all this weekend!

My daughter and I attended the step show and will attend some of the events for Bronner Brothers, but with all that going on...traffic is scary!!!

But the weather is gorgeous!

Today I feel: You know it was one of those days....started off hectic but ended differently...in a sort of good way. And I did manage to pull something together and call it an outfit. It worked. How could it not...black pants, a T, and cardi...

I think I'm going to skip the rest of the script. It's becoming redundant.

The weekend is near and all I'm looking forward to is how fun-filled it will be.

Today I feel: Well...frustrated. And the story goes...
I received a call from my daughter around 2:10pm today telling me that she was in a fight after her last class of the day. Of course I wasn't too happy to hear about this. However, I asked her what happened and she proceeded with this story...

"Me, this girl, and this guy were goofing around in class (tripping each other) and when I got tired of it, as this girl was sticking her foot out to trip me, I stepped on her shoe. This girl started saying she would kick my a$$, so I told her bet. Then she kept saying stuff then I said I was going to kick her a$$. This girl kept talking about me and kept saying she was going to hit me, so I told her that I wish you would. Then this girl came after me and put her hands around my neck trying to choke me. I then pushed her away. Then the girl swung at me, so I swung back..."

So I had to go to the school to speak to her AP. AP says she was surprised and it all sounded so crazy...how it started. Well, I agreed that it was pretty dumb, and that my child should have laughed at the girl and let it go before it escalated. But that girl had no reason to put her hands on my child ... period! AP says both girls were at fault. I agreed but still felt that this girl went too far once she put her hands around my daughter's neck. AP didn't see my point of view. She kept saying how messed up the other student's side of face looked (apparently, during the fight, she was scratched up).

So now I have to wait until tomorrow to see what's going to happen to my daughter. Currently she is suspended for 3 days.

So that is my most memorable thing that occurred as well, there were no best parts of my day, and now tomorrow I'm looking forward to seeing what the principal has to say about all this and what he plans on doing.

Today I feel: "Be careful what you wish for" -- Georgia has had one the most horrible winters I've experienced in a long time. With all of the snow, the seriously cold temps, and the ice...one could only wish for Spring to get here. Well, even though it isn't quite spring yet, the temps are 60-70 degrees, people are cutting their grass, and planting flowers...thus leading me to believe that my allergies have begun...early. I'm sneezing, my eyes are itching, and my nose is running. All signs of allergies. Guess I need to start taking the meds...

Most memorable thing that occurred today: Having a conversation with my mom earlier and she stated that she was watching a 'dog show' on TV. Here's our conversation:

Me: "so what are you doing?"
Mom: "I exercised, now I'm eating some cereal and watching the dog show."
Me: "why are you watching a dog show? is there nothing else on TV?"
Mom: "I don't know....and no there isn't anything on TV...not a thing!"
Me: " oooookkk"
Mom: "Corie, you should see this dog they're showing! it has fluffy hair, like they poofed it up or something...."
Me: "Ummm....I'm going to let you finish watching your dog show. I have to get back to work."

Can you say Boredom!!! LOL
Love you mom!

Best part of my day: Getting off work and coming home to exercise early...now I can chill and work on my blog. Afterwards I don't have to do one thing.

Something I am looking forward to tomorrow: I ordered some hiking boots from this place and they're suppose to get here tomorrow. I can't wait to show you all! They are so cute and I got them for only $15!

Today I feel: Honestly...really good! It was a beautiful day outside; no work done today, only some window shopping, some light shopping and eating. I spent the whole day with my daughter today. She wanted me to take pictures of her earlier in the day; wearing an ... unlikely ensemble. So we went to my office--this is where she wanted to take the pictures--no one was working (it's a Sunday), so I said why not. This is just one of the many photos I'd taken. We mainly stuck to the copy room. The pictures were fun and many came out very good.

Most memorable thing that occurred today: Well....I turned down getting a Godiva drink today. This is rare for me to do so. I love those Chocolixir drinks! Especially the Caramel Milk Chocolate loaded with whip cream on top. Yummmmm

Best part of my day: I just enjoyed my whole day. Being outdoors, it was near 70 degrees, playing with the dog, spending time with my daughter...the entire day was full of love, laughter and joy.

Something I am looking forward to tomorrow: It's Valentine's Day! So I forsee a very loving filled day...just like any other day.

Today I feel: Overwhelmed! Again, another hectic day at the work place. Maybe it's not as hectic as I perceive it to be, and it's just my mindset. It's not like I'm not doing anything I haven't done before; it's not like my workload has expanded (it's about the same as usual); so it could be that it's a bit of all of the above??

I think I have days when I'm feeling good and there's nothing on my mind, then I have days when everything under the sun is on my mind and that's when I start to notice how great of a workload I have. Thus, making me believe I'm having a hectic day. I am going to have to start meditating more often. I know that meditation does help me out a lot.

Best part of my day: Coming home, relaxing, and eating ice cream.

Something I am looking forward to tomorrow: Working on having a better mindset on things. So I'm expecting to have a GOOD day tomorrow. By good I mean, getting up in the morning and easily finding something to wear; having the time to eat breakfast; and ending my day with nothing but good thoughts and preparing for a great night's sleep.

Today I feel: Today was actually a pretty broken day. Work was hectic, and I had so much to do after work, that my afternoon/night was even more chaotic. With me going to the grocery store, the post office, coming home to cook and work out....whew!

Again it was another day in which I really didn't feel like looking for something to wear (when I woke up this morning), so I chose whatever was simple and easy. I just wasn't feeling the day at all.

Most memorable thing that occurred today: Honestly-- nothing. I can't think of one thing that happened today which I would consider to be so memorable. It was a regular, busy day. Nothing was out of the ordinary.

Best part of my day: Well I decided to cook something different for dinner. I made stuffed herb pesto & mozzarella chicken (see below). It was pretty good and the look & smile on my daughter's face while eating it... it always makes me feel good when I see enjoyment on my girl's face.

Something I am looking forward to tomorrow: More sunshine....and a much less chaotic day.
