Store Closings 2011

We hear that the economy is getting better. However, when I keep reading about continued job losses, store closings, and seeing where the unemployment rate currently stands--I beg to differ. Now don't get me wrong, the numbers may have slowed, but it doesn't mean the economy is better. Anyway, here is a list of closings for 2011.

I tend to get emails with lots of questions for me. Sometimes I find them to be rather random, but I honestly do not mind answering them. So here we go...

What's you strongest trait?
One word - Conscientiousness - I'm the most organized, careful, responsible & self-disciplined individual you will meet. I make an effort to be just that.

Favorite book(s)?
I enjoy reading the Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich. These stories are hilarious! I also love reading the Alex Cross books by James Patterson. Every time I read his books, I picture Morgan Freeman as Alex Cross. He did play this character in the movie Kiss the Girls.

Favorite movie(s)?
I have many but the ones that stick out are:

Favorite art/artist?
Vincent Van Gogh is by far the most talented artist I've ever researched. Many know of his work Starry Night; however, my favorite painting is The Potato Eaters. This painting was so detailed & it visually tells a story.

Any struggles/successes?
Sure...let me start by saying juggling school, family and work (all fulltime) are struggles. They are also my successes. School has helped me with my job, family is my heart, and it feels good hearing the words 'great job' from your superiors at work. Currently I'm working on obtaining my PhD in Educational Leadership/Educational Technology.

What do you like about fashion?
It's always evolving. Fashion can enhance your personality as well. When I wear something that looks good on me, and I know it looks good on me, I feel that swagger; I feel elegant....just plain good.

Why do you like blogging? Or do you like blogging?
Yes, I like blogging. Blogging allows me to be me. It gives me the opportunity to share my days, weeks...with the unknown and I have not problems doing so. I get great comments as well. Blogging is freedom of expression/speech, and it's absolutely fun!

Weekend Wrap up...

Sort of...
I didn't have any pictures for Saturday. It was raining all day. There was a break later on in the day but, by that time I could have cared less. So, instead of taking pics, I went to the movies to go see Limitless and The Adjustment Bureau.

Both movies were really good. The Adjustment Bureau, with its great chase sequences and thrills; Limitless with a plot that strongly lends itself to the 'what if' principle. Judge for yourselves though.

Can't Wait for the Rain

Sounds crazy huh? Considering the pollen count being well over 4000; the rain is greatly anticipated. We need something to wash away this stuff out here.

The rain will actually give me an excuse to do some spring cleaning--of the clothes. I need to go through each and every bin and closet and dresser and everything else to see what I will keep, sell, give away to charity, or toss.

Shades of Grey

I know...I know...this is such an epic fail. After seeing my last couple of outfits, one might have thought that I was on a role. My goal is to try and incorporate color in my wardrobe, I didn't succeed today. Even my daughter was like, "you need some color" and I was like "I tried."

Still beautiful outside--mid 60s--sunny and gorgeous. I really wasn't trying to find colorrrrrr. But you know what? My bag was purple! Ha! I guess I should've taken a pic with it.

Ok, I swear I'm going to try and find something colorful tomorrow.

This is called pollen. It is all over my car. I just got the car washed over the weekend. UGH!!!!! This is also what is making me rub my eyes constantly. Do any of you get pollen this bad where you are?? I think the pollen count in Atlanta, yesterday, was over 2500!!

Two in One

I was getting a bit behind on outfits, therefore I've decided to post both Today's and yesterday's outfit (2 outfits--1 day). The weather here has been simply beautiful. Thus leading me to wear lighter fabrics and even COLORS!

Yesterday I wore this maxi skirt I got from ForeverXXI. I love the soft colors.

Today you can say I was a bit nautical. I really liked this skirt at H&M when I saw it and couldn't think of what I wanted to pair it with. Then I started shopping my dressers and discovered the shirt.

I'm really going to try harder incorporating color into my way of dress. I'm such an all black everything kind of gal. We'll see how well I do this spring & summer.

Allen & Wright???

Had no clue what A&W stood for until today...2 partners from Lodi, California combined their initials and formed A&W Root Beer. Mind you, I really don't like root beer but I remember so many of my family and friends drinking this drink and having the root beer floats. It was definitely a big hit in Wisconsin.

Anyway I thought this shirt was cool. I got it in the boys section of Old Navy. It was during the weekend when it was by one T get one free.

Here's my laid back outfit from yesterday. I see now I'm going to be a day behind on outfits. Sorry.

Weekend Wrap up...

I know...my weekend wrap up is usually posted on Sunday. However, this past Sunday I was a little under the weather. I'm physically back on track now--thanks to Vitamin Water and rest!

My daughter had a little luncheon on Saturday at Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro at Atlantic Station on Saturday (her birthday) with a few of her BFFs.

My daughter and her BFFs....one is missing due to her track meet.  

This was my meal at Copeland's. I didn't eat it all. Only had 1/2 a sandwich and boxed up the rest. I decided to give it to the missing BFF yesterday since she stayed the night.

 After lunch, we shopped a little. 1st was H&M then it was off to Lenox Mall to shop at Zara, Macy's, Urban Outfitters and others.

The day before, I had taken my daughter to the Heat vs. Hawks game. She had to see her 'hubby' Lebron James play. She's such a Heat fan!

Busy Days Ahead...

My morning started off busy. I knew it was going to be busy as well. That's why I just threw on this dress. It was easy--didn't have to be ironed or anything. And...it was olive green. So even though, I kept telling everyone that I wasn't going to wear green....I wound up wearing it anyway.

My day went like this:

• Up at 5:30 AM to take the girl to school early
• Came back home to take care of the dog & finished getting dressed
• Went to work from 7-4:30
• Came home to take the girl to get brows done
• Went to Subway (dinner)
• Came back home so the girl could get dressed for a casting call for Tommy Hilfiger
• Drove 38 miles out for the casting call
• Waited for an hour and 1/2
• Drove back home to exercise
• Showered/washed hair
• Pay bills online
• Now working on the blog
• About to get in the bed

Me tired...

Until this weekend...My daughter's bday is Saturday. I will have a very very busy weekend...ugh!!!!

Weekend Wrap up...

So the girl (my daughter)

 and her bff

 

went to the Delta Soro event held on Saturday from like 9:15-12:45. The girl had to leave early due to her having to get on a conference call for her internship with Atlanta International Fashion Week (Facebook site).

Random.....her bff shaved the side of her head. She still looks cute though!

 While the girl and her bff were busy doing their thing, I decided to go get my nails done.

This is what I wore on Saturday.

When I got home--before I was headed off to the movies with the girl and some friends--I decided to test out my new lens again. This time taking pics of the grass (and seeing that it really needs to be treated). These are weeds!!!

Then I got a pretty good pic of an airplane.

After that it was to the movies to see, not 1, but 2 movies ;-)

We saw Red Riding Hood and Battle: Los Angeles. Both were really good. Battle would move you more to the emotional side, as it was sad, nerve-wrecking, and made you angry at times.

So today, the girl

and I did a little light shopping. Mainly things for the house but I did get some other items too.

Like this cute faux leather jacket from H&M for $35.

And this Philosophy body spray for $22. This one is my new fav! I love how it makes me smell so sweet. Goes perfectly with my true demeanor.

Then when I came home and started cleaning up a bit, I noticed that somehow Levi's toys were nicely put into his nap area. They're really suppose to be in his toy bin.  But oh well...

Now it's time for me to exercise, take a shower and get to bed. I have to get up pretty early.
